Information for Couriers

Personal Couriers is not an employer. Personal Couriers is an agent that matches clients to freelance couriers.

To qualify as a freelance personal courier you must pass a background check, have a valid passport and be willing to work for just the travel experience or a very small amount of monetary compensation. Most of our clients are not willing to pay much in excess of travel expenses.

When a courier job becomes available an email is sent to our freelance courier team with the basic travel into. Those couriers interested in the job will respond to the email and the client will then pick the courier they want. Most of our clients are going to pick the courier that will cost them the least amount of money.

Couriers that live near a major international airport have an advantage. Couriers that speak more then one language are a plus. Couriers that have governmental licenses are also in demand. The most desired are couriers that are licensed to translate in medical and legal cases and those that carry Error Omission insurance or are bonded. These sort of governmental licenses and insurance give the clients a sense of trustworthiness.

The client pays the airfare and when needed a small stipend to cover incidental costs such as hotel and meals. In the rare case where the client is willing to pay additional compensation it is paid when the job is complete to the clients satisfaction.

Being a freelance personal courier is not a career choice. It is for trustworthy people who want to travel where the travel experience is the bulk of the compensation.

If you are interested in becoming a freelance courier there is a one time enrollment fee of $50 to cover the background check and administration fees. This fee is reduced to $10 for people who can provide proof of a governmental license with travel value or professional insurance with travel value. Either fee can be paid when the first courier job is accepted and in the rare event that the courier job actually pays money the fee can be deducted from the monetary compensation.
